Introducing "Timeless Rest"
For the month of November I chose "Timeless Rest". It is painted in Acrylic, and is 12" x 12".
This piece is inspired by a photo that was taken by a photographer from my hometown of New Ulm, Minnesota.
It is painted just as the photo appears, which is a rare that I find just the right composition in one photo. My pieces are usually a combination of several. The only alteration is the bird itself. In the photo we see a House Sparrow resting on the light fixture. I felt the bird was much too drab for the painting, and blended into the scene more than I liked. I chose a House Finch because it has a nice combination of red, gray, and some browns.
This piece is available for purchase, and is also published as a Giclee print.
